PUR Cold Pressed — Subscription-First Juice Cleanse Storefront on Shopify

A Shopify storefront for a US cold-pressed juice brand that ships perishable, HPP-protected juice nationwide in insulated coolers. The site is structured around goal-based routing — Daily, Reset, Support, Discovery — leading to a Build Your Own kit builder, three signature cleanses (Signature, Powerhouse, Ultimate) in 3/5/7-day formats, functional shots, protein almond milks and daily combos. Subscription is the core model: 15% off recurring deliveries, pause or cancel anytime, with a routine quiz as the entry point. Supporting layers include a comparison table against "typical juice" and "big juice brands," product-attributed reviews, rewards, affiliates, a wholesale channel and Route package-protection claims.

The brief

The challenge, and how we approached it

01

The challenge

Juice is perishable, heavy, and sold on a claim the customer can't verify from a photo — that it's fresher than what's in the supermarket. Shipping it nationwide in coolers only makes sense at subscription scale, so the store's job is to convert a first-time visitor into a recurring routine, not a one-off order, while handling the operational reality of cold-chain delivery and damaged-package claims.

02

Our approach

The homepage opens with a question — "How you wanna feel?" — and routes by goal rather than product, so the visitor lands on Daily combos, a cleanse, functional shots or a discovery bundle without navigating a catalogue. Every path terminates in "Start My Routine," the BYO kit builder, which is the subscription entry point; the "pause anytime, no commitments" promise is repeated at each CTA. The freshness claim is argued explicitly with a three-column comparison table (PUR vs typical juice vs big brands) across production method, ingredients, sugar, nutrients, shelf life and taste. Reviews are tied to the exact product used. Cold-chain operations are surfaced honestly — insulated coolers, express shipping, a $150 free-shipping threshold, and a Route claims page for package issues — rather than hidden. Trust counters (40,000+ orders, 5,000+ members, 18,000+ subscribers) sit in a marquee. Rewards, affiliate and creator programmes carry retention and reach; wholesale runs separately.

How it ran

10 weeks build, in four stages

Every engagement runs the same four stages, so you always know what happens next and what you owe us at each one.

Stage 1

Audit and scope

We review the current theme, apps and analytics, then write a fixed-scope SOW with named deliverables and a date.

Stage 2

Design and build

Work happens in a dev store on a Git-backed workflow. You get a preview link from week one, not a reveal at the end.

Stage 3

QA and launch

Cross-browser and device QA, redirect map, analytics verification, then a launch window agreed with you rather than dropped on you.

Stage 4

Hypercare

Fourteen to sixty days of included post-launch support while real traffic finds the edge cases.

The outcome

Where Dana's Bakery landed

Conversion is up 2.1× after the PDP rebuild, AOV is up 34% year-over-year thanks to gifting upsells, and drop days are now smooth — zero downtime across 12 drops in the past year.

Every drop day was a stress event before. Now they're just a Tuesday. The team built us infrastructure we can actually grow on.
