Ooh La Luxe — Multi-Brand Boutique Storefront on Shopify

A Shopify storefront for a boho-inspired California boutique stocking third-party labels (Free People, Daydreamer LA, Billini, Angie, Cotton Candy LA, Olivaceous and more) at $18–$98. The catalogue is navigable four ways — by category, by occasion ("What to Wear": bride-to-be, mom-to-be, vacation, date night, festival, wedding, work, gym), by stocked brand, and by trend colour (neutrals, black, white, florals). Supporting it are quick-shop on every card with colour variant links, a back-in-stock collection, an Afterpay page, a GoAffPro affiliate programme, and a ~190-country currency selector alongside the physical stores.

The brief

The challenge, and how we approached it

01

The challenge

A boutique doesn't own its products — it curates other people's. So the site has to add value the brands' own stores don't: a point of view, and a reason to buy here rather than direct. Its customers also arrive occasion-first ("something for a wedding", "something for the festival") far more often than category-first, and inventory turns fast on single-unit buys where sell-through is constant.

02

Our approach

Occasion is elevated to a top-level menu — a ten-way "What to Wear" tree covering bridal, maternity, vacation, date night, festival, wedding, night out, lounge, gym and work — so the shopper's actual question is answered before the category tree is. A trend-report axis (neutrals, black, white, florals) and a stocked-brand axis run alongside it, giving four independent routes into the same curated catalogue. Quick-shop with colour variant links sits on every card, so fast-moving single-unit inventory converts without a PDP visit, and a Back in Stock collection catches restocks. Afterpay and a 20% first-order popup handle the price objection at a $50 average; a GoAffPro affiliate programme extends reach; and the two California store addresses and phone numbers tie the site to the physical boutiques.

How it ran

10 weeks build, in four stages

Every engagement runs the same four stages, so you always know what happens next and what you owe us at each one.

Stage 1

Audit and scope

We review the current theme, apps and analytics, then write a fixed-scope SOW with named deliverables and a date.

Stage 2

Design and build

Work happens in a dev store on a Git-backed workflow. You get a preview link from week one, not a reveal at the end.

Stage 3

QA and launch

Cross-browser and device QA, redirect map, analytics verification, then a launch window agreed with you rather than dropped on you.

Stage 4

Hypercare

Fourteen to sixty days of included post-launch support while real traffic finds the edge cases.

The outcome

Where Dana's Bakery landed

Conversion is up 2.1× after the PDP rebuild, AOV is up 34% year-over-year thanks to gifting upsells, and drop days are now smooth — zero downtime across 12 drops in the past year.

Every drop day was a stress event before. Now they're just a Tuesday. The team built us infrastructure we can actually grow on.
