Miss Lamonique — Polish Health & Supplement Retailer for the UK Market

A bilingual (English/Polish) Shopify storefront importing Polish natural-health brands — Slavito, Skoczylas, Biowen, Visanto, Dobre Konopie — for the UK's Polish diaspora, shipped from a UK warehouse. The catalogue spans supplements organised by active ingredient (46 amino acid, herb, mineral and vitamin sub-collections), a full sports-nutrition range, Polish foods (rock salt from named mines, ghee, honey, royal jelly), cosmetics, chemical products, and Harmonia magazine with back issues to 2015 and 6/12-month print subscriptions. Free delivery over £48, Klarna and crypto (USDC) accepted.

The brief

The challenge, and how we approached it

01

The challenge

Supplement shoppers search by ingredient, not brand — nobody looks for "Slavito," they look for "L-Theanine." But the buyer base is diaspora, so the store also has to serve people who know these Polish brands by name and want them in their own language. Add a catalogue that stretches from berberine to rock salt to magazine subscriptions, and navigation is the whole problem.

02

Our approach

Two parallel entry paths over one catalogue: an ingredient-first tree (11 amino acids, 13 herbs, 9 minerals, 9 vitamins, plus collagen, omegas, CoQ10 and probiotics) for the health-literate shopper, and a brand-first menu for the diaspora customer who arrives knowing exactly which Polish manufacturer they trust. A separate Gym & Fitness tree with 28 sub-collections keeps sports nutrition out of the wellness catalogue. Polish foods and the Harmonia magazine archive get their own trees rather than being buried under "Other." Language switching (EN/PL) via a translation app, GBP pricing, and a broad payment stack including Klarna and USDC. Trust is carried by the manufacturers' own credentials — "recommended by Dr H. Czerniak" — plus a 30-day refund, 10,000+ customers cited, and a phone line with published UK hours. Expiry dates are surfaced in product titles, which matters for supplements and is unusual in the category.

How it ran

10 weeks build, in four stages

Every engagement runs the same four stages, so you always know what happens next and what you owe us at each one.

Stage 1

Audit and scope

We review the current theme, apps and analytics, then write a fixed-scope SOW with named deliverables and a date.

Stage 2

Design and build

Work happens in a dev store on a Git-backed workflow. You get a preview link from week one, not a reveal at the end.

Stage 3

QA and launch

Cross-browser and device QA, redirect map, analytics verification, then a launch window agreed with you rather than dropped on you.

Stage 4

Hypercare

Fourteen to sixty days of included post-launch support while real traffic finds the edge cases.

The outcome

Where Dana's Bakery landed

Conversion is up 2.1× after the PDP rebuild, AOV is up 34% year-over-year thanks to gifting upsells, and drop days are now smooth — zero downtime across 12 drops in the past year.

Every drop day was a stress event before. Now they're just a Tuesday. The team built us infrastructure we can actually grow on.
